The island of St Martin (also Saint Maarten) forms part of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean and is the smallest island that is shared between two nations: it is roughly divided in half, with the northern part being an overseas French region and the southern part belonging to the Netherlands Antilles.

St Martin is a beautiful, mountainous island.  Its highest point is in the French half: Pic Paradis at 414m.  Climb up to the ruins of Le Fort Louis outside Marigot, the capital on the French half, and you will have an excellent view of the city and its surrounds.  You could also go horseback riding at Lucky Stables on the Dutch side.
